Philosophy & Mission

Our Philosophy

The Olson Financial Group provides investment guidance and planning to our clients through a holistic team approach. We take time to understand our clients' investment objectives, risk tolerance, time frame, and tax liabilities before we work with them to create a proper asset allocation strategy.

Investment Philosophy

We take an entire look at our clients' financial assets before we develop a strategy to assist them in pursuing their goals. We listen carefully to their investment objectives and desires before we design a plan for them. By taking a client-first approach, we can create an asset allocation plan with the appropriate risk tolerance parameters. Loy U. Olson

Senior Vice President/
Investments, Branch Manager

With over 43 years of experience, Loy provides guidance to his clients and assists them in making informed decisions regarding their financial goals. With the complex nature of investing today, he created the Olson Financial Group to enhance the level of client service, help ensure that the client's needs are being addressed, and to better evaluate the many available investment choices that might be of interest to our clients.

Loy began his career with Ellis, Holyoke & Company in 1976. In 1978, A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. bought out Ellis, Holyoke & Company, and he spent the next 32 years with A.G. Edwards. After additional mergers that occurred in 2008 and 2009, he moved his business to Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated in 2010. Stifel is a full-service wealth management firm offering the products and services our clients need. Because of this, Loy believes the move was very beneficial to the Olson Financial Group and especially to our clients.

Born and raised in Nebraska, he received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and a Master's degree in Educational Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Loy enjoys golf, travel, and Nebraska sports.
